Research in the Valley of the Kings

The University of Arizona Egyptian Expedition (UAEE) was instituted in 1989 as a non-profit scholarly entity committed to ongoing excavation, research, and conservation work in Egyptian archaeology, and particularly in the Expedition's focal area of research: the Valley of the Kings and the area of ancient Thebes around modern Luxor, Egypt.

Expedition Staff

The University of Arizona Egyptian Expedition is made up of an international team of Egyptologists, supporting specialists, and advanced students from a number of universities, and varies depending upon project needs.

Dr. Suzanne Onstine (University of Memphis), Linda Gosner (Brown University), Omar Abuzaid (Sohag University), Dr. Pearce Paul Creasman, Damian Greenwell, Danielle Phelps, Dr. Gonzalo Sanchez (University of Arizona), Richard Harwood (Colorado), Donald Kunz (Arizona), Ashleigh Goodwin (Washington), Stephanie Denkowicz (New York), Lyla Brock, Rexine Hummel (Royal Ontario Museum). The joint SCA - UAEE South Asasif Conservation Project is directed by Dr. Elena Pischikova (The Metropolitan Museum of Art). The assistance of other staff members who have worked with the Expedition at various times since its inception is acknowledged in our formal reports and publications.
